Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has formed a three-member committee to investigate the clash between police and students of Prime Asia University in front of the Secretariat on Tuesday. 

The committee was announced on Wednesday (January 8) through an office order signed by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sajjat Ali.

The committee, led by Joint Police Commissioner (Crime) Md. Faruq Hossain, has been tasked with identifying the root causes of the incident and determining responsibility. 

They are required to submit a detailed report with recommendations within five working days. 

The committee is authorized to include additional members if necessary.

Earlier, a clash broke out when 400-500 students of Prime Asia University gathered at the Press Club demanding the removal of several members of the university’s managing board.
