Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, experienced the world’s second worst air quality on Wednesday morning, with an AQI score of 223 at 7:53 am, classified as "very unhealthy."

This level of pollution poses a severe health threat to residents, according to the AQI index.

Cities like Hanoi, Delhi, and Mumbai followed, with AQI scores of 281, 251, and 215, respectively.

The AQI measures air pollution based on five key pollutants, including particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) and NO2.

Dhaka's air quality often deteriorates in winter and improves during the monsoon.

The World Health Organization (WHO) links air pollution to approximately seven million deaths annually due to respiratory and heart diseases.
