Seven people were abducted by armed terrorists from Komola Bagan Para in Saroai Union under Lama Upazila of Bandarban.
The incident happened on Sunday (February 2) morning.
According to police and locals, the armed men took the workers from a labour shed in the remote Bomur Khal area. Upon receiving the news, members of the joint forces launched an operation to rescue the victims.
Bandarban Superintendent of Police Md Shahidullah Kawsar confirmed the matter.
He said that joint forces started the rescue operation as soon as they received the information. However, the area is highly remote, making it difficult to determine who was behind the abduction.
Earlier, on January 14, armed men abducted seven rubber plantation workers from the same area in Saroai Union. Security forces conducted an operation and rescued them within a day.
