Injured victims block Mirpur road, issue ultimatum to govt

Injured victims of the anti-discrimination movement have moved to Shyamoli, blocking roads to demand medical treatment abroad.

They previously blocked roads in front of the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Pangu Hospital) and the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital.

The protesters have given the government until 4:00 PM to respond. If their demands are not met, they plan to march towards the Secretariat. Some protesters have even threatened to take extreme measures, including self-harm.

The injured activists on Sunday at around 11:30 AM, relocated from Pangu Hospital to Shyamoli intersection, where they continued chanting slogans.

Addressing journalists, the protest leaders said, "We are giving an ultimatum until 4:00 PM. If no one contacts us by then, we will march towards the Secretariat."

Protester, Mohammad Sharif, acknowledged that blocking roads is causing public suffering but said they had no other option.

He said that the interim government had left them with no choice, and no one was paying attention to their struggles.
