29 arrested in Chattogram Operation

Chattogram Metropolitan Police arrested 29 political leaders and activists, including members of the Awami League, Youth League, and the banned Chhatra League, during a 24-hour operation. 

The arrests were made between midnight on Tuesday (February 18) and midnight on Wednesday (February 19).

According to SI Md. Imran Hossain of the Police Media and Public Relations Division, the arrested individuals face multiple charges, including attacks on students and public during anti-discrimination protests. The charges also include offenses under the Special Powers Act and Anti-Terrorism Act.
