BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep concern over the rising incidents of violence and harassment against women in the country.

He strongly condemned such acts and urged strict measures to curb all forms of anarchy on Friday (March 7).

Fakhrul said that women play a crucial role alongside men in the country’s development, Bangladeshi women are earning global recognition for their contributions.

Protecting women's dignity and freedom is a moral duty and a constitutional right, said Fakhrul.

He called on the government to take firm action against all forms of violence and ensure justice and peace in the country.
