A Narayanganj court has denied bail for Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy, former mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation, in a murder case.

The decision was issued on May 12 by Senior Judicial Magistrate Shamsur Rahman.

During the hearing, Ivy’s lawyers requested division facilities in prison, which the court approved.

Inspector Md Kaiyum Khan of Narayanganj District Court Police confirmed that Ivy’s lawyers had applied for bail in connection with the Siddhirganj murder case, but the court rejected it.

Advocate Mahbubur Rahman Masum, Ivy’s legal representative, stated that they plan to appeal to a higher court. He also noted that the court has directed prison authorities to ensure division facilities for Ivy while in custody.
