DHAKA: Some 11 people, including four of two families, were killed in separate road accidents in different districts of the country on Tuesday.

Banglanews staff correspondent reports that a man was killed as a passenger bus rammed him in Banani area in the city in the day.

The deceased was identified as Jabed Ali, 54, a covered-van driver of Parjatan Corporation of Mohakhali.

In Rajshahi: At least four people, including a mother and her son, were killed and 20 others injured in Rajshahi as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Basantapur area under Godagari upazila of the district in the afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Marium Begam, 55, Mohiuddin, 35, Shahidul Islam, 40, Mehedi Hasan, 7.

Confirming the matter Sub-Inspector of Godagari Thana told banglanews that the injured were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Besides, two siblings were killed in a road crash in Kamargaon area on Syedpur-Kamargaon road under Nabiganj upazila in Habiganj district.

The deceased were identified as Rangu Mia, 25 and his younger brother Hafez Lingcon, 22, son of late Abdul Khaleque.

Nabiganj Thana Officer-in-Charge Jahangir Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident at Ghatail upazila in Tangail district on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Motaleb, 35, son Joynal of Baukhola village under Madhukhali upazila and Ratul, 10.

Sub-inspector of Ghatail Thana Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Apart from this, two people were killed in a road crash on Pabna-Bogra highway in Mahisha Khola under Sathia upazila in Pabna district.

The deceased were identified as Uzzal Hossain, 48 and Haque Ali, 32.

Sathia Thana Officer-in-Charge SM Faruk Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
