DHAKA: A total of 17 complaints were reported to newly formed Anti-Kidnapping Squad of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in last three days.

Deputy Commissioner of Detective Branch (DB) Police Crime Information (South) Krisna Pada Roy came up with the disclosure on Monday.

He also said of the complaints, 16 were received before forming the squad where the other one was placed on Sunday.

The law enforcers are conducting special drives as per the missing complaints, he added.

The DB police will conduct drives in civil dresses for privacy policy if anyone doubts on them then they are requested to contact in nearer police stations and be sure about the team, he added.

However, earlier on May 3, the squad was formed with 40 members of DB police where Additional Commissioner of DB police Sanwar Hossain is leading the squad.

DMP website avails some contact numbers to submit a missing report or any information about forced disappearance. The numbers are 017133398327, 01713398619 and 01713373216.
