SATKHIRA: Border Security Force (BSF) of India handed over some 18 Bangladeshi nationals to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at Bhomra BGB camp of Sadar upazila in the district on Sunday noon.
The detained are Imran Hossain, of Chaluahati village in Monirampur upazila of Jessore, Subhash Chandra, and Kalpana Mehta, of Badartala village of Ashashuni upazila, Krisna Mondal, of Bhelkhali village in Shamnagar upazila, Ripon Morol, Firoza khatun, and Nurul Haq Sarif, of Balia village in Tala upazila of Satkhira, Kamrul Biswas, and Taslima Khatun, of Jamirul village in Petuli upazila of Narail, Yusuf Sarif, of Baliakhali village in Morolganj upazila of Bagerhat, Rizaul Islam, his wife Rabea Khatun, their son Sumon, of Nawakathi village in Patkelghata upazila, Nurul Islam, his wife Masura Khatun, their son Mamun, Ibrahim, of Komorpur village in Debhata upazila and a child.
BSF men of Ghozadanga camp detained them in the morning when they were trying to return from India without passport.
Later, they were handed over to BGB camp at noon and brought them to Satkhira Sadar Police station.
Enamul Haq, Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, confirming the arrest said a case would be filed in this connection with Passport Act.
