Comilla: Police foiled the SSC and Dakhil-passed students’ reception organized by Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of the embroiled Jamaat, on Sunday morning at Rajanigondha Community Center in the town for not informing the district administration.

Police obstructed the Shibir activists as they came to the venue. They also dispersed the students who all came to receive the salutation of Chhatra Shibir.

In protest, the Shibir activists staged a demonstration in front of the community center. Thereafter, they came down on the street as police chased them.

“Finally, police dispersed them as they started a procession shouting slogans against the police,” says a spot report of the melee.

Police Super Shafiqul Islam told banglanews24.com.bd, “Shibir arranged the program without informing the police. So the agendum has been stopped, as it may disturb law and order.”
