Kolkata: A Bangladeshi named Rafiqul Islam was arrested while allegedly trying to infiltrate to Pakistan along the Indo-Pak border in Kanachak area, 20-kms from Jammu, Indian police said Sunday.

“BSF troops, who were patrolling along the International Border (IB) in Kanachak area of Jammu, saw a person moving towards the zero line and challenge him last night”, a spokesman of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) police said.

“He was later arrested by the BSF and was identified as Rafiqul Islam from Bangladesh”, spokesman added.

BSF troops handed him over to the J&K police for interrogation

J&K police spokesman added, “Nothing incriminating was recovered from his possession.”
