Witness killed in Sirajganj while returning after court appearance

Sirajganj: A poor man was waylaid and killed sometime on Monday night while returning home from a court here after testifying in a criminal case, according to family sources.  

Police on Tuesday morning recovered the body of Abdur Rahman, 60, from Bagdumur village in Bahuli union under Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning.

A day laborer, Rahman hailed from Boalia’s Char area. His body was sent to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Saheb Ali, son of the deceased, filed a murder case with the Sadar thana.   

Quoting the case statement, Sadar thana OC Wares Ali Mian said, “Abdur Rahman was killed by his rivals while he was returning home on Monday evening after appearing in a court.”
