RAJBARI: Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun said the recent hartal enforced by the opposition BNP without any issue was designed to stop the graft trial of its chief’s two sons or war crimes trial.
 
She made the allegation at a meeting of law-and-order committee in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner Saturday.

The minister also lambasted the BNP-Jamaat alliance for enforcing the general strike for deepening public sufferings. She, however, said people defied the hartal call.

She further alleged that the opposition killed people by setting fire to vehicles.

Sahara said, “The trial of war criminals would be begun soon because it was our election pledge.”

Later, the Home Minister inaugurated a newly constructed fire-service station in Pangsa upazila headquarters.
