Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir has questioned the funding source behind Islami Chhatra Shibir’s daily iftar distribution.

Speaking at a press conference at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan on Friday (March 7), he referred to a statement by Shibir’s Secretary General, Nurul Islam Saddam, who claimed that the organization spends Tk 3 lakh daily on iftar distribution, totaling Tk 90 lakh for the entire Ramadan.

Nasir asked how a student organization like Shibir generates such a large amount and called for transparency regarding its funding sources. 

He at this time said that JCD maintains financial transparency and accountability in its expenditures.

Commenting on the newly formed National Citizen Party (NCP), Nasir said he found nothing new in it, describing it as an extension of traditional political structures.
