BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury today said that the people of Bangladesh would not accept any obstacle to restoring a ‘democratic order,’ which he called their fundamental expectation.

Speaking at a pre-Iftar Mahfil at Chattogram Club, Khasru said that after the departure of Sheikh Hasina, people are anticipating a new political landscape under the slogan "new politics, new thinking, and new Bangladesh."

Attendees included city Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossen, former city BNP Secretary Abul Hashem Bakkar, and BNP leader Israfil Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.

Khasru also said the complementary relationship between politicians and journalists, urging media professionals to adapt to the changing political environment. 

He accused the ousted government of using development rhetoric to justify its rule and delay elections.
