DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club on Wednesday afternoon protesting the remark of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina about Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Khaleda Zia.

Opposition Chief Whip Jainul Abdin Faruque led the human chain formed at about 1pm.

BNP MPs Moudud Ahmed, Jafrul Hasan Chowdhury, Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Amzad Hossain and others MPs attended the human chain.

The Prime Minister at a discussion on August 1 had advised the opposition leader to repent publicly through a self-debasing pledge not to indulge in corruption again and admit her failure to contain it during the last BNP regime.

BNP has already staged demonstration and held programmes at Muktangan in the city protesting the comment.
