DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia alleged that the government is harassing their party’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir regarding his bail plea.
She made the allegation at an iftar program, organized by Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) at Ladies Club in city’s Eskaton Road area on Monday evening.
‘BNP acting secretary has been granted a bail, but the government is harassing him,’ the BNP chief said.
She further alleged that people of the country are not safe either at home or outside. According to her, price hike has snatched peace from people’s mind.
BNP-led 20-party alliance leaders, including LDP’s Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmed, Jatiya Party’s (Zafar) Kazi Zafar Ahmed, Islami Oikkya Jote’s Latif Nezami, Khelaphat Majlish’s Muhammad Ishaq and key ally Jamaat-e-Islami’s Aminul Islam, among others, were present at the event.
A special prayer was also offered before iftar.
