DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) authority on Monday gave permissions to both ruling Awami League (AL) and opposition BNP to organize rallies in front of their respective party headquarters on January 5, the second anniversary of 10th general elections.

DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia made this announcement while talking to journalists at his office in city Monday afternoon (January 4).

He further said the DMP gave permission to the parties in organizing the rallies on some conditions.

AL can organize a rally at Bangabandhu Avenue while BNP can organize their rally at Nayapaltan on the day within the cordon that will be fixed by DMP, he added.
