DHAKA: Ruling Awami League (AL) joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said that the people will prevent BNP holding programs on January 5.

He made the assertion while addressing a joint meeting as chief guest at the Diploma Engineers Institute Auditorium Friday morning (December 30) organized by AL Dhaka Metropolitan South unit.

The meeting was held as a preparation of the Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on January 10.

Terming BNP as a political party who slays people to create sabotage on election, Hanif said that they do not have rights to hold political rallies in city streets.

Earlier on Wednesday (December 28), BNP announced to observe programs on January 5 protesting the parliamentary election held on the day.
