DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia paid homage to the Language Movement martyrs by placing wreaths at Central Shaheed Minar at the first hour on Tuesday (21 February).
The BNP delegation of 60 leaders, led by Chairperson Khaleda Zia and secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, paid homage to the Language Martyrs around 1:25 am.
She also stood for one minute in silence and prayed for the departed souls of the martyrs.
As per state protocol Khaleda Zia along with her party members paid homage after the president, prime minister, cabinet members, dean of the diplomatic corps, head of diplomats and missions, Dhaka University VC and ruling party’s chief.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, later, said the journalists that they have only one demand on this day - use of Bangla in all sectors.
