JMB man held in Naogaon

NAOGAON: Police detained a listed member of the banned extremist outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), a fugitive in five cases including kidnapping, killing and extortion, from Atrai upazila of the district on Wednesday (March 22).

The detainee, Mohammad Abdus Sattar, 55, son of one (late) Solaiman Ali, hailed from Chakbistpur village of Atrai upazila. 

Atrai thana officer-in-charge (OC) Badruddoza told Banglanews that Sattar was involved in kidnapping, killing and extortion with the executed so-called militant leader ‘Bangla Bhai’ after JMB emerged in 2004.

He was a fugitive for long. On formation, police conducted a drive and detained him, OC added.
