DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia called a meeting of its National standing committee, the highest policy-making body of the party, on Monday (May 8).

The meeting is scheduled to hold at the BNP chief’s Gulshan Political Office at 8:30 pm Monday, said her press wing Shairul Kabir Khan and Shamsuddin Didar.

It was learnt from the party insiders that the main agenda of the Monday’s discussion will be on preparation for Khaleda Zia’s upcoming press briefing of May 10.

The press briefing is scheduled to hold at the Westin Dhaka where the BNP chief will speak about ‘Vision 2030’, an outline of the party’s future plan.

Earlier in last year, Khaleda in her speech gave an outline of this vision but this time it will be a complete version of that plan, party sources said.

However, it was also learned that the Monday’s meeting also may discuss some other political and organizational topics.
