TANGAIL: Mirzapur upazila Jubo Dal joint secretary was killed in infighting while picketing during hartal hours in Sohagpara area of the district on Monday noon.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Alim, 40.

Locals said that the clash erupted between activists of upazila BNP president Abul Kalam Azad Siddique and vice president of a pro-BNP organization Firoz Hyder Khan while picketing in Sohagpara Bazar around 2:00pm.

Activists of Abul Kalam chopped Alim severely, leaving him injured critically.

He was rushed to Kumudini Hospital where doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Mirzapur Thana Golam Mostafa confirmed the matter to banglanews.
