‘It’s a wrong verdict’

DHAKA: Expressing discontent, Jamaat lawyer Barrister Abdur Razzak said the verdict Supreme Court on Quader Mollah’s appeal is ‘wrong’.

He came up with the observation in his reaction of the verdict at Shafiur Rahman auditorium of Supreme Court Tuesday.

Barrister Abdur Razzak said, “It’s a wrong verdict, we are aggrieved, surprised and we think the verdict is against justice.”

Earlier, the Appellate division on Tuesday sentenced Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah to death for his involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971

The Apex Court passed the verdict at 9:37am after concluding the hearing on appeals filed against inadequate sentencing and conviction of war criminal and Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah.

On February 5, International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 sentenced Quader Mollah to life in prison for his involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.
