A Dhaka court has ordered the freezing of 68 bank accounts and the seizure of 16 immovable properties owned by S Alam Group Chairman Md. Saiful Alam and his family.
The Metropolitan Senior Special Judge, Md. Zakir Hossain Galib, issued the order on Tuesday (Jan 14) following a petition submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The seized properties include a 10-story building at S Alam Tower in Gulshan, a six-story building on one bigha of land in Dhanmondi, a four-story building on 11.88 decimals of land in Dhanmondi Lake Circus, a flat on 2,658 square feet of land in Gulshan, a 0.7888-acre plot in Gulshan-2, a seven-story building in Uttara, and a plot of 103.03 katha in Vatara, among others.
The ACC's Deputy Director, Siffat Uddin, filed the petition.
