Medical admission results published

The results of the MBBS admission test for the 2024-2025 academic years have been published, with female candidates once again outperforming their male counterparts.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday (January 19), the admission test was held on Friday (January 17). 

This year, 5,380 seats are available in 37 government medical colleges, while 6,293 seats are allocated across 67 approved private medical colleges.

Based on scores from the admission test, SSC/equivalent, and HSC/equivalent results, 5,372 candidates have been primarily selected for admission to government medical colleges. 

The selection process adhered to the policy set by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).

A total of 135,665 applications were submitted online for the exam, of which 131,729 candidates participated. Among them, 60,095 candidates passed, achieving a pass rate of 45.62%.

The results show that 22,159 male candidates passed (36.87% of total passers), while 37,936 female candidates passed (63.13% of total passers). The highest score in the admission test was 90.75.

Selected candidates for government medical colleges must complete their admissions between February 2 and February 8, 2025.

The notification for online applications to private medical colleges will be published on January 23, 2025.
