DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) held eight fake detective police from capital’s Banasree area on Tuesday morning.

The detainees are-Mohammad Ali, 25, Ripon, 25, Abul Khayer, 20, Monir, 28, Anik, 26, Iqbal, 20, Rubel, Suman Mia, 26.

Sources said that a team of police led-by Additional Deputy Commissioner of detective branch of Metropolitan police (west) Ashikur Rahman held them from block-C of Banasree at around 9:45am.

The law enforcers, however, recovered pipe gun, two wireless sets and a handcuff.

Confirming the matter Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media sources told banglanews, “Detail will be announced in a press briefing.”
