DHAKA: The first Namaz-e-Janaza of former Member of the Parliament Khandakar Rashiduzzaman Dudu, also Kushtia Awami League president, was held on Friday morning.
Jatiya Sangsad Jame mosque Imam Maolana Abu Nayem Ibrahim conducted the Janaza around 10:00am at South Plaza of Parliament Bhaban.
Later, the body was taken Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban around 9:45am.
On behalf of President Abdul Hamid, his military secretary Major general Abul Hossain paid tribute to him and then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid her last tribute to him.
Among others, opposition chief whip Tazul Islam Chowdhury, Bashundhara Group chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, Managing director Sayem Sobhan, East West Media group publisher Moinal Hossain Chowdhury, Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, also member of the parliament from Kushtia, several MPs, FBCCI president Akram Uddin Ahmed, renowned businessman Salman F Rahman joined the Namaz-Janaza of the Rashiduzzaman Dudu.
Later, Dudu’s body is set to be taken to Ishwardi airport by air ambulance and then taken to the Kushtia central Eidgah by road where the second Janaza will be held.

The eminent business leader-organizer breathed his last at 7:00am Wednesday after suffering from many age-related diseases.
He also was president of district Juba League for long and vice-president of Kushtia government college Chhatra Sangshad.
The former lawmaker was also an eminent businessman and leader of the business community.
He served in the Rupali Bank as chairman for five years and vice-president of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI, the apex body of businessmen of the country.
He served Kushtia Chamber of Commerce as president for several terms.
