The interim government has appointed Prof. Asif Nazrul, Advisor for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, the administrative and financial responsibilities of the Speaker of the National Parliament. 

This decision was made following the resignation of Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, which left the Speaker’s position vacant.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, announced the decision at an event held at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Thursday (Oct 31) evening.

He said that Prof. Nazrul will handle these new responsibilities alongside his existing advisory role.
