Ten people have been arrested so far in connection with the killing of a military personnel over a land dispute in Sherpur.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) disclosed the information on Friday (Dec 13).

According to ISPR, the incident occurred on December 2, 2024, in Nijpara village under Char Sherpur Union of Sherpur Sadar Upazila. Soldier Wasim Akram was killed following an attack stemming from a land-related dispute with his uncle and cousins.

Following the murder, the victim’s brother, Md. Jasim Mia, filed a case against the accused.

Later, law enforcement agencies, including joint forces and RAB, started conducting operations to apprehend those involved in the killing. 

ISPR further said that ten individuals have been detained in connection with the incident, and efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining culprits.
