Five people, including three women, who were in a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, were killed when a covered van hit the vehicle in Bhairab of Kishoreganj on Monday (Dec 16) morning.

The accident took place in Jagannathpur area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway.

Two of the deceased were identified as autorickshaw driver Shahin and its passenger Rajon. They were from Narsingdi district.

Bhairab Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shaheen confirmed the matter.

The covered van and the autorickshaw were seized and taken to the police station, he said.
