Nasiruddin Patwary, convenor of the Jatiya Nagorik Committee, has announced that no elections will take place in Bangladesh without the trial of Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League.

Speaking at the end of a Victory Rally on Monday (December 16), Patwary emphasized that anyone attempting to pursue elections before this trial would be considered a national enemy and traitor.

The rally, which began at 3:40 PM from Banglamotor and ended at Shahbagh, was organized by the Jatiya Nagorik Committee to commemorate both the 1971 Liberation War and the upcoming 2024 mass uprising.

Patwary said that Bangladesh is facing a critical moment, criticizing both the Hindutva ideology and the "Mujibist" government for causing harm to the nation. He vowed that the youth would resist any future attacks on the country.

He identified two main enemies—“Delhi’s extension of Mujibist forces” and the Hindutva ideology from India—and called for a leadership role for Dhaka in South Asia.

At this time, Patwary called for the immediate trial of Sheikh Hasina over the deaths of over 2,000 individuals in July and August, pledging to prevent the Awami League from reforming or gaining power.

Spokesperson for the committee, Sarjis Alam, claimed that Mujibism, led by Sheikh Hasina, had sacrificed the nation’s sovereignty, and under her leadership, Bangladesh had become a “puppet” of Delhi.

Participants in the rally chanted slogans like “Inquilab Zindabad, Mujibism Murdabad” and “No Elections Before Justice.” 

Several key members of the committee were present, including Ali Nasir Khan, SM Saharia, Nizam Uddin, Ariful Islam Arif, Akhtar Hossain, and Samantha Sharmin.
