Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain called for enhanced cooperation among member states during the 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), held virtually in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Highlighting war, conflict, climate change, and natural disasters as threats to humanity, Touhid Hossain urged collective dialogue and meaningful solutions to maintain peace, stability, and shared security in the Asian region.
He described CICA as an effective platform for fostering trust through mutual cooperation in economic, environmental, and humanitarian areas, expressing optimism for new partnerships under the forum.
He also expressed Bangladesh's commitment to contributing in areas such as information technology, disaster management, and environmental protection, particularly as a co-chair.
Established in 1992 to promote peace, security, and stability in Asia, CICA currently has 28 member states. Bangladesh joined the forum in 2014.
