Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqur Alam said that the government has no evidence to confirm that former Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader was in hiding for three months or that he left the country.

Speaking at a press conference on contemporary issues at the Foreign Service Academy on Tuesday (Decr 17), Shafiqur Alam made this remark.

He said, “We are looking into the matter and have gathered some information. However, there is no proof in the government’s possession regarding whether Obaidul Quader stayed in Bangladesh or not.”

He added that investigations are ongoing regarding Quader and the alleged involvement of law enforcement officials in these claims.
