A fire that broke out in the Karail slum at Banani in Dhaka, on Wednesday (Dec 18) has been brought under control. 

The fire was reported around 4:15 PM in the Bowbazar area of the slum.

In response, the Fire Service sent seven units from three stations to the scene.

Rakibul Hasan, a duty officer at the Fire Service’s control room, confirmed the matter.

However, the fire was later brought under control within an hour, he added.
