Three people were killed and one was injured after a private car lost control over its steering and crashed into an electric pole in Sylhet on Friday (Dec 20).
The accident occurred around 11:00 am on the Sylhet-Tamabil Road near Dhamri Beel in Jaintiapur’s Bagher Sarak area.
Jaintiapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Bashar Md Badruzzaman confirmed the matter.
He said the car was traveling from Jaflong to Sylhet. Two passengers died on the spot, while locals rescued two others in critical condition and sent them to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mohibur Rahman of the hospital’s police camp said that one of the injured succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while the other remains in critical condition.
The identities of the deceased and injured are yet to be confirmed, he said.
