The interim government has no connection to the "July Revolution Declaration" announced by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, according to Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser.
He clarified the matter at a press briefing at the Jamuna State Guesthouse gate on Sunday (Dec 29).
Shafiqul Alam said that the declaration is viewed as a private initiative, unrelated to the interim government.
Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Mazumder said that the matter remains unclear until the declaration is officially announced.
Earlier in the day, leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement announced that the declaration would be unveiled on December 31 at the Central Shaheed Minar.
Movement Convener Hasnat Abdullah said the declaration would render the Awami League irrelevant, comparing it to the "Nazi forces," and mark the burial of the 1972 "Mujibist" Constitution.
Sarzis Alam, Chief Organizer of the National Citizens' Committee, stated that the declaration would serve as a guideline for future governance and reflect the hopes and aspirations of all Bangladeshis.
The press conference was also attended by key organizers Abdul Hannan Masud and Jahid Ahsan.
