Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, the father-in-law of Daily Sun Editor Md. Rezaul Karim has passed away. (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji'un).

He breathed his last at 1:05 pm on Thursday (16 January) at his residence in Dhaka. He was 92.

Hafizur Rahman, a former senior official of Bangladesh Bank, left behind two daughters, one son, five grandchildren, a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Hafizur Rahman hails from Sohagdal village in Nesarabad Upazila under Pirojpur district.

The namaz-e-janaza for the deceased will be held at the C Block Mosque in Bashundhara Residential Area after Maghrib prayers. He will then be laid to rest in the family graveyard in Pirojpur.

Earlier on 7 January 2024, his wife Rajia Sultana passed away.
