A fire that was broke out at a tannery warehouse in the capital’s Hazaribagh area has been brought under control after nearly two and a half hours of efforts on Friday afternoon.
The fire was contained at 4:45 pm with the efforts of 12 firefighting units, confirmed Md. Shahjahan Sikder, Deputy Assistant Director (Media) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
The fire was first reported at 2:23 pm. According to Fire Service duty officer Rozina Akter, the blaze broke out on the fourth floor of a four-story building housing a leather warehouse.
The cause of the fire and reports of casualties are yet to be determined. Twelve firefighting units worked on-site to extinguish the flames.
