DHAKA: The government has given approval of the draft of Rangamati, Bandarban and Khagrachhari Hill District Parishad (Amendment) Act 2014.

The approval came from a regular weekly cabinet meeting at the secretariat with the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

After the meeting, cabinet secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan made the disclosure while talking to journalists.

He told the journalists that new interim council comprising 11-member headed by a chairman will be formed for each of the three hilly districts as per the amended act.
