7 killed in Chattogram bus-microbus collision

At least seven people were killed and five others injured in a bus-microbus collision in Lohagara of Chattogram this morning (April 2).

The accident occurred in the Chunati area of the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway at around 7:15 am.

The identities of the deceased could not be immediately known.

Firefighter Md. Abdullah of the Lohagara Fire Service confirmed the matter.

Dohazari Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Manjur Hossain told Banglanews that seven people, including a girl and a child, were killed on the spot when a Chattogram-bound bus of Relax Paribahan collided head-on with a Cox's Bazar-bound microbus.

He said that five more people, who were injured in the accident, were rescued and sent to a local hospital.

The officer also said the mobile phone of the microbus driver was recovered. Efforts are being made to identify the identity using the mobile phone, he added.

Earlier on Eid day (March 31), five people were killed and 12 others were injured in a collision between a bus and a minibus in the Chunati area at around 7:30 am.
