A mild heat wave is currently affecting Rajshahi division, as well as the districts of Dinajpur, Syedpur, and Chuadanga, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) reported on Wednesday (April 2).
According to the Met Office, day and night temperatures may decrease slightly in the northern region but are expected to remain nearly unchanged in other parts of the country.
The weather forecast indicates mainly dry conditions with a partly cloudy sky. However, there is a chance of rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning flashes in some areas.
Temporary gusty winds may also occur at isolated locations in the northeast.
The Met Office attributed the prevailing weather pattern to a trough of low pressure over West Bengal and its adjoining areas, along with a seasonal low over the South Bay.
On Tuesday, Rajshahi recorded the highest temperature in the country at 38.0°C, while Dimla in Rangpur Division reported the lowest at 16.0°C.
In Dhaka, the sun is set to set at 6:15 pm today, with sunrise expected at 5:49 am tomorrow, the Met Office added.
