CHAPAINAWABGANJ: At least two kids died and another injured in Shibganj upazila of the district while gathering mangoes during thundershowers on Tuesday night.

The deceased were identified as Sumon, 9 and Maruf, 7; resided in Sateroroshia village under Ghorapakhia union of the upazila.

Local Union Parishad Chairman Akhterul Islam informed banglanews that those kids were injured as thunderbolt struck on them while gathering mangoes.

Later, locals rushed them to the Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital, where duty doctors pronounced Sumon and Maruf ‘dead’ there while another child Bakar is under treatment,” he added.

Bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their family.
