KISHORGANJ: A minor boy drowned in a pond at Kodalia village in Pakundia upazila Friday.

The victim was identified as Rana Mia, 5, son of Rokonuddin of the village.

Family sources said Rana drowned in the pond near his house while having a bath at about 11 am.

“Villagers saw Rana floating on the pond waters, rescued and rushed him to Kishoreganj Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead,” says a spot account of the incident.
