CHITTAGONG: Three people, including two siblings, were electrocuted and two others sustained injuries in Baluchar area under Bayzid Bostami thana in the port city on Saturday night.

The deceased were identified as Mithun Mohajan, 25, a student of Chittagong Government College, his younger brother Chhoton Mohajan, 18, a student of Chittagong polytechnic college, and Mishu, a labourer.

The three died on the spot and two others suffered injuries when they came in contact with the electrified tin-roofed house of a neighbour at about 9am during construction of their own house.

Priyotomo Mohajan, father of the two students, alleged that Ratan and Uzzal, owners of the electrified house, had barred them several times from constructing Mohajan’s house.

“To obstruct the construction work, they might have electrified their home intentionally, which claimed the lives of my sons,” Priyotomo said.

Injured workers Babul and Rafiqul Islam were admitted to a hospital.
