Khaleda along with daughters-in-law reaches Gulshan residence

BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia reached her Gulshan residence "Firoza" in Dhaka on Tuesday (May 6) from Dhaka airport after arriving here from the United Kingdom.

The 78-year-old leader arrived at her Gulshan residence, 'Firoza', around 1:25pm, greeted by a large number of party leaders, activists, and supporters who lined the route from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to welcome her home.

Her convoy left the airport at approximately 11:15am.

Supporters chanted slogans, waved banners, and held flowers, placards, and T-shirts bearing her image.

Hundreds gathered outside the house on Road 79 in the capital’s upscale Gulshan neighbourhood since early morning amid tight security.

Members of the army and law enforcement agencies were deployed in the area to maintain order and ensure security during her return.

Khaleda Zia had flown to London on January 7 and was admitted to a specialized clinic the following day. She remained under medical care at the facility for 17 days.

From January 25, she continued her recovery under the supervision of Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross, both associated with the London Clinic, while staying at the residence of her elder son and BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman.

Khaleda Zia has been receiving treatment for various chronic health conditions over the past few years, and her health has remained a key concern for the BNP.
