Nine leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL) and its front organisations, including former Bagherhat-4 MP Amirul Islam Milon and a former ward commissioner, have been arrested in the last 24 hours.

Detective Branch (DB) teams detained them from various parts of the capital in connection with flash processions aimed at destabilising the country.

DB’s Deputy Commissioner for media, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, confirmed the matter.

The individuals are accused in multiple July uprising-related cases, he added.
