HABIGANJ: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel held five men of Chhatra League’s district unit including its leader here and recovered firearms from their possessions.

The detained were identified as joint secretary of district unit Chhatra League Habibur Rahman Chawdhury Rajib, 22, Iman Hasan, 24, Injaman Ahmed Ehtesham, 22, Abdul Mohit Chowdhury Mishu, 22, Abdus Samad Shipon, 25.

RAB-9 commander of Srimangal Camp Kawsar Mahmud said acting on tip-off, a RAB team held Iman Hasan from Haripur and Rajib from Shamoly residential area early morning Friday.

Following statements of Imam and Rajib, RAB recovered a revolver with one round bullet from Abdul Hannan’s residence at Chowdhury Bazaar. At that time the elite force held Hannan’s son Abdus Samad Shipon.
 
Later RAB personnel raided the house of Abdul Wahed of Shayestanagar residential area of the town and arrested Abdul Mohit Chowdhury with an LG.
