JOYPURHAT: A leader of Jubo Dal, youth wing of BNP, was stabbed allegedly by a youth to death following a dispute over a trifling matter on Sunday noon.

The deceased was identified as Afzal Hossain Loro, 46, Assistant general secretary of Joypurhat unit Jubo Dal and son of Shamsuddin of Sobuj Nagar Mahalla of the district.

Family and Hospital sources said a young man, Mohon, 19, chopped Loro indiscriminately following a quarrel around 11:30am when Loro went to the field near to his home.

Locals rushed him to Joypurhat Modern District Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 12:30pm.

The attending doctor of the hospital Saidur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Joypurhat Thana Anwar Hossain told banglanews that they are investigating the matter.
